Overview of the Program
2026 Connect partners current juniors and seniors with Trinity College alumni for a 4-week industry-based mentorship program. Each mentee will be matched with one dedicated mentor based on career goals, professional interests and skills, and desired location.
The primary goals of the program are for alumni mentors to provide their mentees with insights and advice on:
- The current state of hiring in their desired career field.
- Strategies for networking, finding open positions, and positioning themselves for future hiring.
- Career-specific feedback on search materials and interviewing strategy.
Spring 2026 Timeline
- Mentor Registration Window: February 2 - 13, 2026
- Mentee Registration Window: February 16 - 27, 2026
- Mandatory Mentee Orientation: March 3, 2026
- Common Hour (Lunch will be provided). Please Register on Handshake
- If you cannot make this session please reach out to Vera Agresti at vera.agresti@trincoll.edu immediately.
- If you are ABROAD this Semester, there will be a virtual orientation to accommodate time zone differences. If you are abroad this semester, please reach out to Vera directly.
- Match Days: March 9-12, 2026
- Matched Mentor Orientation: Friday, March 13, 2026
- Time TBD on Zoom - Recording will be available.
- Start of Program: March 16. 2026
- Close of Program: April 10, 2026
Important Things to Note
- Participants will be selected based on responses to the registration questions.
- Matching will be based on a combination of factors including preferences selected by mentees and overlap in interests and background identified in program registration questions.
- Incomplete profiles will not be considered for matching.
- You will receive an email notification once you are matched with your mentor or mentee.

Why participate?
You will gain a professional resource who will help to expand your knowledge and skills, give you valuable advice, and work to build and expand your professional network.
Your mentor is an advocate who will encourage you to set and achieve goals, and can teach you about career options and possibilities.
What is required of me as a mentee?
- Connect regularly with your mentor via video or message.
- Take initiative by scheduling meetings and arriving prepared. Show a genuine interest, and ask questions.
- Complete personal and professional goals assigned to you (and create your own!). Mark these as complete by the assigned due date.
- Demonstrate professionalism by being timely, open to feedback, expressing a willingness to learn, and following through on commitments.

Why participate?
Mentoring can be a fun and rewarding experience! You have the opportunity to advise, influence and support students on their university and career journey.
You'll find that your own career, too, can be enhanced by the time and effort you put into a mentoring relationship as you hone your coaching skills and become familiar with the new generation entering the workforce.
What is required of me as a mentor?
- Connect regularly with your mentee via video or message.
- Expose your mentee to potential career opportunities (via research, informational interviews, job shadow, professional organizations and networks etc.).
- Help your mentee set and achieve goals.
- Provide constructive feedback to enhance your mentee's professionalism and preparedness.
- Share examples of success and failure from your own experience.
